NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS
the Northern Marianas Islands (CNMI) is made up of three main islands: Saipan, Rota, and Tinian. At the end of World War II, Tinian was the departure point for the Enola Gay, which delivered the first Atomic bomb to Japan. The Northern Marians have one Department of Public Safety. It has two divisions: Police and Fire. Corrections used to be part of Public Safety but became its own department in 2005. They also have a Ports Authority Police Force that patrols all of the islands, airports and seaports. Conservation Officers are also armed law enforcement officers in the Commonwealth, as are the Court Marshals.
