This tiny island group was formerly known as the Union Islands. It is a relatively unknown and seldom-visited land consisting of three small atolls; Atafu, Fakaofo, and Nukunonu. The government has a 10 person Police Force that used to wear the uniform and insignia of the New Zealand Police. Tokelau is about to start on the road to becoming an independent nation in free association with New Zealand.
